Velocity Five Lansdowne is the 5th and newest location for this Northern Virginia chain of sports restaurants, and it’s everything you would expect from Velocity Five. Situated at 19286 Promenade Drive within Lansdowne Town Center (Tel. 571-333-4747), Velocity Five Lansdowne offers American cuisine – including local seafood selections, a raw bar and beer premiers – to locals within newly renovated state-of-the-art facilities. Not an over-the-top sports venue, it appeals to singles, families and non-sports enthusiasts. If you want to catch your favorite team and enjoy good eats, make sure to ask for a booth with your own TV. Morever, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights after 10 pm, the atmosphere and tempo heats up with a live DJ and dancing. Not many places appeal to the masses, allowing you to listen to current tunes, watch sports and dance with your honey!

Don’t miss out on their happy hour specials or outdoor lounge in warmer weather. It’s worth a try with $5 appetizers and $4 house drinks. If you work in the area, they also offer half-price burgers during the week from 11AM to 6PM. To date, we’ve enjoyed it and are looking forward to going back for another casual meal with our family.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill – Grilling Over Open Flame

One night after movies we went to check out a new restaurant Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, where meats and fishes are grilled over open flame and it was really good. I was surprised that this is actually a chain restaurant and this is 20th restaurant, which is located at 1607 Village Market Blvd, Leesburg, VA 20175; Tel. (703) 840-0443. First Firebirds Wood Fired Grill opened its doors in Charlotte, North Carolina in December of 2000.

Nice decor with open kitchen and bathrooms were nice and modern.

Overall everything was fine, we had a very good experience and we will definitely go back!

Bonefish Grill – Fresh Seafood Restaurant in Ashburn

We love going back to Bonefish Grill for a delicious, reasonably-priced meal. For seafood lovers, they offer a wide selection of fresh fish, prepared in various manners and with creative dipping sauces. I really enjoyed the three salsas I selected with my fish, and they made the trout taste delectable. And with their weekly specials (food and drink), you’re sure to find something you’ll like. Their choice of food pairings, flavors and quality ingredients makes them a standout among their peers. If you’re going with a group and seafood doesn’t exactly float your boat, they offer a small selection of non-fish entrées as well as kids meals. Bonefish Grill knows how to make customers happy. The atmosphere is casual and friendly.

For the biggest bang for the buck, they’re offering a prix-fixe dinner option for a limited time. For $19.50 per person, you’ll enjoy a starter, two salads and two entrées. All entrées are served with a fresh seasonal vegetable plus your choice of one side item.

Noku – Japanese Grill & Sushi in Lansdowne, VA

We just re-discovered Noku Japanese Grill and Sushi recently and are happy to say it’s one of our new favorites. Located at 19302 Promenade Dr. in Lansdowne, VA (Tel.: 571-333-5223), this Japanese eatery now rates much higher on our list since we originally tried it two years ago. New management has made a significant difference in the food and service.

Our favorite dishes are their salmon and yellow tail “sets” – a single fish dish which combines sushi, sashimi and spicy maki. So far, this is the best sushi we’ve found in the Northern Virginia area. We’ve tried quite a few, but it’s hard to realistically compare them against Sushi restaurants in New York. City. Nonetheless, Noku has simple, fresh dishes and friendly service. We also like the Chef’s more creative special maki rolls. We find their plate portions are just right, with entrees including miso soup and salad. And while they do not allow substitutions, they do allows us to omit a veggie in their “AAC” vegetable roll (avocado, asparagus and cucumber) as our kids do not like one of them .

Tuscarora Mill – American Restaurant in Leesburg, VA

We were going out to celebrate our anniversary and got suggestion to checkout Tuscarora Mill, which is located at 203 Harrison St. SE, Leesburg, VA, Tel.: 703-478-1141. And we were very happy about this suggestion, this is our favorite restaurant in Leesburg now!

Tuscarora Mill is an independent, locally owned restaurant with casual cafe and bar. The building is nicely furnished and ceilings are wooden with the old mill equipment.

I was very impressed about Tuskies special cocktail, it was strong and had nice flavor (ginger beer) and I was happy to order second drink as well (usually special cocktails does not taste good). Our dinner was perfect and portions were big, my wife could not finish a Lamb Shank. Sadly I was not able to order dessert, was too full, so we have to go back to check it out
